Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at the airport in Entebbe (EBB), Uganda – transfer to your hotel in Kampala
Day 2: Kampala – Fort Portal
After breakfast, you set off on well-maintained country roads in a westerly direction to Fort Portal. On the way you will get a first impression of Uganda. You drive through small villages and enjoy the view of the lush vegetation and the constantly changing, hilly landscape. We stop at the equator for a few photos and then continue past huge tea plantations to your lodge.
Day 3: Trip to the Semliki
Today we are going to Semliki National Park. After breakfast, we first drive to Fort Portal. There you will have the opportunity to visit the market. The colorful fruits and the hustle and bustle are a stark contrast to the European supermarket. A centrally located café offers good internet and tasty snacks, fresh salads and juices. After you have fortified yourself, you will continue to Semliki National Park where you will reach your lodge in the afternoon.
Day 4: Semliki – Kibale Forest
Day 5: Kibale Forest National Park, chimpanzee tracking – Queen Elisabeth National Park
Today you will visit the chimpanzees in the rainforest. Follow the tracks of the primates in the jungle with an experienced guide. Soon, with a bit of luck, you will reach the first animals, observe their way of life and have the opportunity to take photos. You will be back at the lodge around midday, after lunch you will set off on your journey towards Queen Elisabeth National Park.
Day 6: Queen Elisabeth National Park, game drive and boat safari
Today you start early for a morning game drive in Queen Elisabeth National Park. The extensive park lies at the foot of the Rwenzori Mountains, also known as the Mountains of the Moon. Lake Edward and Lake George are located within the park. In the national park you will go on an adventurous game drive with all that the African animal world has to offer. You will find lions, buffalo, hyenas and also the Kobe antelope, which is native to Uganda. The Kazinga Canal connects the two lakes. Crocodiles and hippos live here, as well as a large number of bird species, some of which can only be found in this area. In the afternoon you go on a boat safari on the canal where you have the opportunity to see these animals at close range.
Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Lake Mburo National Park
In the early morning, you will set off on another game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The herds of elephants with around 3000 animals are particularly impressive. Around midday, you will continue eastwards to Lake Mburo National Park. The park offers the possibility of a guided walking safari.
Day 8: Lake Mburo National Park, walking safari – drive to Entebbe
Lake Mburo National Park offers the opportunity to go on a walking safari. An experienced ranger takes you on an exploration tour, teaches you to read footprints and animal droppings and shows you which animals are nearby. You will be amazed when you see the wild animals up close. Around midday you start your return journey to Kampala / Entebbe. We stop at the equator for a souvenir photo.
