It is generally believed that the district was named after Karen Blixen, the Danish author of “Out of Africa”; her farm was only a 2-minute drive from the hotel. It is only a 40-minute drive from Nairobi International Airport and is located between the Nairobi National Park and the foothills of the Ngong Hills.
