Location: The Pongwe Beach Hotel is located on a picturesque beach with white, powdery sand, turquoise water and shady palm trees in the north-east of Zanzibar. Facilities: There are 20 rooms in 3 different room types, which are distributed in various bungalows throughout the grounds. There are 13 beachfront rooms with sea view, 3 rooms with garden view and 3 beachfront suites with sea view and a small private pool. All rooms have a furnished terrace. The hotel rooms were built in the traditional Zanzibar style using workers from the nearby village of Pongwe. The buildings have traditional wooden doors and handmade furniture. Each room has its own bathroom with shower, a mosquito net and a ceiling fan. Restaurant: The Pongwe Beach Hotel offers a choice of bed & breakfast or half board. Guests can choose between 1, 2 or 3 courses, fresh fish and seafood are the chef’s specialties. Alternative dishes are always offered for guests with allergies or special requests. On Friday evening there is a Swahili buffet. The bar is open all day and offers a selection of beers, soft drinks, shakes and cocktails as well as a good selection of wines from all over the world. Activities:The infinity pool offers a fantastic view of the Indian Ocean. There is free snorkeling equipment, kayaks and paddle board, bicycles are also available.
