Location: Sultan Sands is located on the northeast coast, right on the beach overlooking the Indian Ocean. The hotel is nestled in a large tropical Gardens and the beautiful fine sandy, white beach is right outside the door. The hotel takes its name from the sultans from Oman, who ruled the Zanzibar archipelago for centuries. Facilities: The complex consists of several terraced round bungalows. The hotel has 76 spacious rooms. The Pwani rooms have a large king-size bed, separate dressing room, shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, ceiling fan, mosquito net, satellite TV, telephone, minibar and large terrace with garden view. The Bahari rooms offer a limited sea view with the same equipment and are close to the beach. Restaurant: The main restaurant, with a fantastic view over the pool and the ocean, spoils its guests with buffets at all meals and every evening with delicious themed buffets (Swahili, Oriental, Seafood, Italian, Indian, BBQ, Trip around the World and Zanzibari). The Kivuli Bar & Restaurant, located right on the beach, offers light snacks such as salads, sandwiches, grills and the Zanzibari tappas for lunch. There is also the Mawimbi Bar near the pool. Activities: The complex has a tennis court, fitness center, spa, and water sports facilities such as windsurfing and snorkeling. There are 2 swimming pools and a sun terrace with great views of the beach and the turquoise ocean beyond. Other facilities include a boutique and a business center. For younger guests there is a children’s club (3-13 years).
