It is 15 kilometres to the entrance to the Serengeti National Park, and the nearest major city is Mwanza, 125 kilometres to the south. Speke Bay is a part of Speke Gulf, named after the famous explorer John Hanning Speke. Speke found that Lake Victoria is the headwaters of the Nile. Facilities: All eight bungalows are located directly on the lakeshore. The roofs are covered with a thick layer of local reed grasses, which provides excellent thermal insulation. Custom-made furniture made of solid Mkola wood adds to the pleasantly homely yet elegant atmosphere. The sleeping area is equipped with a large lockable wardrobe and a desk. From the terrace you have a wonderful view of the lake.
