Location: The Palm, one of Zanzibar’s most exclusive, private resorts with just seven villas in a personal and intimate setting, is located on the white sandy beach of Bwejuu in the southeast of the island. The hotel organizes courses “under the palm trees” with Mwalimu (teacher) who gives Swahili courses and lessons about the history of Zanzibar. On the beach of Bwejuuu – Paje, guests can learn how to weave palm trees. Cooking classes are regularly organized, where guests learn to prepare some classic Swahili dishes and learn about the local spices as well as their uses.
