Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport – drive to Chanya Lodge in Moshi
Day 2: Excursion to the Maasai
Your Tanzania trip begins with an excursion to Olpopongi, the only authentic Masai village in Tanzania. Here you will experience how people live and gain an insight into the culture of the Maasai. Various guides take you through the Masai Museum and explain the norms and values that apply, how the hierarchies work, which objects are used in traditional ceremonies and which clothing corresponds to the ideal of beauty. After a traditional tea-drinking session in an original Masai hut, you will be given lots of information about the various plant species and their healing properties on a bush walk.
Day 3: Tour to the Wachagga
Accompanied by your guide, you will drive to Marangu at the foot of Kilimanjaro. Once there, you set off on a short hike through the green landscape. The trail leads past small streams and you soon reach your first destination, the Ndoro waterfall. Enjoy the view, take your photos and then your guide will take you to a traditional Chagga house built from banana leaves. Here you can see how simply the Wachagga lived until a few decades ago. The tour then continues to the market, where craftsmen forge cowbells, knives and arrows and you can experience how they are made using the simple tools of ancient craftsmanship. We return to the hotel with many new impressions.
Day 4: Safari in Arusha National Park
This morning you set off on your first safari. The driver will pick you up at your hotel after breakfast and head towards Arusha. After about an hour you reach the national park at the foot of Mount Meru. You will see zebras, buffaloes and giraffes, the colobus monkey can be found in the dense bushes of the Ngurdoto Crater and countless flamingos live on the shores of the Momella Lakes. In the evening you will continue to your lodge.
Day 5: Sarfari in Tarangire National Park
Today we head towards Tarangire National Park. Many elephants live here, as well as lions, zebras and giraffes. The park is named after the river of the same name, which is the only source of water for the wild animals in the dry season. The long park with its varied landscape alternates between hills, savannah and swamps, and the huge baobab trees are particularly striking.
Day 6: Drive to the Ngorongoro Crater
An impressive drive to the Ngorongoro Crater rim at an altitude of around 2300 meters lies ahead of you. Steadily up the East African Rift Valley.

Day 7: Karatu – Relaxation at the lodge
Today you have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful lodge to the full or to explore the surroundings of the lodge. The climate is pleasant for walks. Every now and then baboons can be seen along the border to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Day 8: Transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport and flight to Zanzibar
Today our driver will take you to Kilimanjaro Airport, from where you will fly to Zanzibar. On arrival in Zanzibar you will be picked up and driven to the east coast. The beach hotel “The Loop” is located about 50 km east of Stone Town.
Days 9 – 15: Lodge stay on the dream beach of Zanzibar
You will spend the next few days at the hotel with its central pool and powder-fine sandy beach. Perfect for unwinding and taking a break from everyday life. Various excursions can be booked for an additional charge.
Day 16: Return transfer from your lodge to Zanzibar airport
Today the driver will take you back to Zanzibar airport

Chanya Lodge
stay: 3 nights
Location: The Chanya Lodge (formerly Mountain Inn) is located in a quiet location, 4 km from the central town of Moshi and is therefore an ideal starting point for mountain tours as well as for safaris. A low-cost taxi will allow you to explore the city centre on your own. Kilimanjaro International Airport can be reached in 45 minutes by transfer. Arrivals and departures are possible at any time of the day. Facilities: The 25 spacious rooms are all friendly, bright and furnished in modern African décor. All have comfortable beds with mosquito net, fan, shelf, seating, as well as private spacious shower room with hot water and toilet. Restaurant: The restaurant offers a delicious selection of international and Indian dishes and the bar offers the opportunity to toast an unforgettable tour. In the restaurant area there is free Wi-Fi for every visitor.
Arusha Villa Hotel

Location: Surrounded by a large and well-kept garden, Arusha Villa Karamu Coffee Estate is located on the western edge of Arusha. The villa is located between Arusha city and Kilimanjaro Airport, which can be reached in about 45 minutes by car. It is the ideal starting point for safaris in the Tarangire, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti. Facilities: The property has six luxuriously furnished rooms and two family rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, king-size beds, a seating area and a private balcony or terrace. Enjoy a dip in the outdoor pool, a stroll through the gardens with spectacular views of Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro, or a drink by the fire in the garden or at the bar. Location: The “Tarangire Simba Lodge” is a tented camp lodge near the northwest entrance to Tarangire NP. The facility is located on the edge of Lake Burunge. The view from the pool, from the observation deck or from your terrace is breathtaking. Facilities: The 16 comfortably furnished tents have large double beds, a seating area, a large bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower, hot water and round-the-clock power supply. Each tent has a veranda. There is a pool and a bar. Restaurant: The restaurant offers excellent international and local cuisine. Also from here you have a great view over the beautiful landscape.
Karatu Simba Lodge
stay: 2 nights
Location: Karatu Simba Lodge is located on a hill above Karatu directly on the border of the Ngorongoro National Park and only a few kilometers from Lake Manyara National Park. You can enjoy the view from the lodge over the wide valley into the national parks. Facilities: The 17 single, double and family tents are comfortably furnished and have large beds, a seating area, a veranda and a bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower. There is a swimming pool from which you have a fantastic view over the valley. Restaurant: The restaurant and bar are located in the main building and serve international and local cuisine.
Zanzibar Magic Boutique H

The Zanzibar Magic Boutique Hotel is located directly on the spectacular white sandy beach near the village of Matemwe on the north-east coast of the island of Zanzibar. The hotel offers various room types, including Seaview Doubles and Seaview Twins, some with the option of connecting them. . Each room is 35 square meters in size and has a large veranda, garden furniture and exotic potted plants. Up to one extra bed can be accommodated in each room. All of the hotel’s rooms offer a magnificent view of the sea. The chef’s team prepares delicious dishes using only fresh local produce.
